Peanut Butter and Chocolate Almonds

Who doesn’t like chocolate and peanut butter on the same dessert? I mean it is a match made in dessert heaven the nutty saltiness of the peanut with the sweet luscious chocolate sounds like a winner to me. A couple days ago I wanted  to eat something sweet that didn’t require lots of time and ingredients so decided to make chocolate covered almonds, but then I noticed I has some peanut butter so added it in. It’s safe to say that I’m in love these are delicious with a good sweet to salty ratio. If you have nut allergy you can omit the peanut butter and add a white chocolate drizzle or add sprinkles either way this is simple, sinful, and sweet!

YIELD: 2 servings PREP TIME: 5 minutes

COOKING TIME: 10 minutes TOTAL TIME: 15 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 ounces of milk or semi sweet chocolate chips
  • one tablespoon of flavorless oil (canola or vegetable)
  • 1/4 cup of peanut butter
  • 1 cup of almonds

DIRECTIONS:

Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper. First create a double broiler to melt the chocolate by pouring water into a pot one inch below the top. Next put a heat proof bowl on top of the water until it simmers (do not boil). Add chocolate and oil mix with a spoon/spatula until completely melted. Put the almonds in the melted chocolate and spread the almonds on the baking sheet. Then drizzle melted peanut butter on top of the almonds. Finally cool for 30-45 minutes serve and enjoy!

What is your favorite flavor combination? My favorite is cookies and cream it has the perfect balance of sweet and cream.
